Role
Who you are
- Proven experience in partnership operations, business development, or related field, preferably with experience driving mutual growth and value in the technology, SaaS, or digital marketing industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review and improve existing partner processes effectively
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to maintain accurate partner records and documentation
- Proficiency in using CRM tools, Salesforce, and other relevant software
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and reporting metrics
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with external and internal partners effectively
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive results independently
What the job involves
- The Partnerships team is responsible for delivering on big, exciting goals. By establishing and growing strategic partnerships, we directly contribute to the top of funnel success of Bench and we have fun doing it
- Joining Partnerships at Bench means you will be signing up to: help Bench and our partners reach their goals and targets, respond to the shifting needs of small businesses clients, work cross-functionally with all Bench teams (finance, bizops, and sales in particular), and create a world-class experience for our partners
- Partnerships are key to growing Bench and by doubling down on our biggest partnerships, you will play a critical role in delivering on this growth
- We are looking for someone who can take on and manage existing partnership ops but most importantly—build repeatable and scalable processes including but not limited to:
- Partner billing—action the day to day required but also review what’s working, what’s not, and how to improve this process
- Partner reporting—build reports highlighting monthly partner metrics and other relevant insights for the partnerships team and our partners
- Finance support—play a vital support role for finance related questions that come from our partners
- Partner payouts—ensure our partners are paid (approving payouts and reconciliation)
- Create partner records for newly onboarded partners (Salesforce, Partner ID, Landing page creation etc..)
- Partner marketing support—work closely with our partner marketing team to facilitate marketing activities including future marketing campaigns/events
- Manages partner inbox—respond to partner emails/inquiries and action as needed
- Create and manage an efficient partner resource storage and organization system all partner related resources (eg. sales enablement materials, partner-specific discount history, promotional materials, etc.)
- Maintain all internal partner documentation
- Manage specific communication channels between partners and relevant teams at Bench

However, this generally still requires a lot of financial data input from the client, often occurs offline, and can be completely unaffordable for small businesses.
Bench provides an online bookkeeping service for small businesses, offering one-on-one expert support from accountants and small business experts, in addition to other financial tools. The company focuses on facilitating seamless tax declaration for users, as well as providing general financial advice, all-in-one financial dashboards, and tools for financial statements & analytic reports.
Whilst bookkeeping services are nothing new, Bench has taken a unique approach by integrating with the likes of Shopify, Stripe, Freshbooks and Sage. This enables them to provide small businesses with a more centralized and tailored financial experience, one which has led to major funding and in 2022, a slate of key leadership hires.
