Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of Finance experience, including a strong foundation at high-growth technology companies (SaaS and Consumer), preferably with previous Strategic Finance, Investment banking, and/or private equity experience
- Expert-level financial modeling skills, with strong attention to detail and high standards for quality
- Ability to think across multiple dimensions of a business (sales, product, marketing, etc.) and work cross-functionally to deliver results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-financial audiences
- Experience working with performing in-depth data analyses in SQL, creating KPI reports and dashboards in business analytics tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.), and working with Data team to access relevant data and build dashboards
What the job involves
- The Revenue FP&S team within Checkr’s finance organization is responsible for revenue forecasting, analytics, planning, and reporting. We strive to drive better decision making across the organization through analytics and insights.
- This role will have a particular focus on our rapidly growing SMB and Mid Market segments
- Provide data-driven insights and products that improve our understanding of revenue growth and help drive better decision making
- Partner cross functionally to help answer questions such as - which customer segments or products are driving our growth? How effective are our pricing policies? What factors drive our sales bookings to revenue conversion? What is the breakdown of our revenue growth - new customers, expansion of usage, upsell, and pricing?
- Build dashboards that enable us to programmatically monitor revenue, pricing, and margin trends
- Provide broad financial support, including preparation of financial plans, internal management reporting, dashboards and ad-hoc analysis
- Collaborate on annual planning process, quarterly reforecasts and long-range strategic plans
Our take
Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
