Who you are
- Experience: 5+ years of software development experience
- JavaScript. Typescript and Node.js Expert: Deep expertise in these core technologies
- AWS Knowledge: Deep experience with Amazon Web Services
- Continuous integration: Can demonstrate experience of working in a CI environment including TDD
- SQL Skills: Proficiency in MySQL/Postgres
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mentorship Skills: Experience in mentoring junior and mid-level team members
- Team Collaboration: Effective teamwork skills, especially in a remote setting
- Own Initiative: Although we’re looking for team players, you should also be comfortable flying solo and delivering projects without additional support
- Assessment of new framework and tools: Help us build upon what we already know and make things better for everyone
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication capabilities

- Event-Driven Architecture: Experience with designing and working with event-driven systems
- NoSQL Database Knowledge: Familiarity with DynamoDB and NoSQL data design

- As a Software Engineer at BibliU, your primary goal is to drive significant advancements in our digital learning platform, directly impacting the learning experience of students and educators globally. In this role, you will:

- Innovate for Impact: You will leverage cutting-edge technologies to create innovative solutions that enhance the user experience. Your contributions will help in making the platform more intuitive, responsive, and effective, thereby increasing engagement and improving learning outcomes
- Collaborate for Success: Working in tandem with cross-functional teams, you'll play a pivotal role in translating ideas into reality. Your collaboration will ensure that the development process aligns with both the company's vision and the users' needs, leading to products that resonate with our audience and uphold our commitment to quality education
- Drive Continuous Improvement: You will not only focus on developing new features but also on enhancing existing ones. Collaborating closely with the product team, you'll ideate improvements and innovative solutions
- Additionally, you will provide ongoing support to our existing users by addressing technical issues, assisting customer support teams, and suggesting overall service improvements. This ensures that our platform not only meets current educational needs but also adapts to future challenges and opportunities

Our take
Educational institutions are becoming increasingly keen to use technical solutions to better their services, and BibliU is tapping into this trend. The company delivers access to e-textbooks and courseware for as low as $50 per student, per class - massively reducing the cost of access to essential educational resources.
Universities subscribe to BibliU for an annual fee, and their students can access course materials such as e-textbooks, monographs, and more. This means that educators have more freedom when planning lessons or lectures, knowing all their students will be able to get their hands on relevant resources. BibliU also shares the revenue from its institutional deals with academic publishers, with which it partners.
Funds secured by the company have been used to accelerate expansion across the UK and US, secure additional partnerships and investigate new product development. Despite the economic uncertainly that plagued EdTech in general throughout 2022, BibliU experienced massive growth that has seen over half the UK's higher education students receive access to its platform, and many US institutions replace legacy bookstores with a BibliU subscription.
