- You have 2-3 years of professional experience in Kotlin / Java or any other JVM-language
- You have good experience using Spring Boot and experience in developing REST APIs
- You have experience in using PostgreSQL
- You have experience in using PubSub, Kafka or similar messaging solutions
- You have some experience/are willing to work with containers and utilize tools like Kubernetes
- You have some experience/are willing to work with Async programming
- You have good communication skills in English as this is our company language across our markets
- Having knowledge or experience with GraphQL is a benefit
- Having experience in community features: high load comments, social feed or algorithms would be a benefit
- Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
What the job involves
- As a member of our Community team, you will work on enhancing user engagement through community-focused features such as comments, reactions, polls and posting in the app
- Your responsibilities will include supporting and developing features that align with our Community strategy, ensuring system stability and optimal performance
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and propose innovative solutions
- Your primary tasks will involve building and maintaining high-quality community features, driving team deliverables, and ensuring robust code quality to create a seamless user experience
- Work on high-quality feature implementation in Kotlin, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks
- Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
- Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
- Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing

The flexibility of listening to podcasts while doing other activities simultaneously is driving the market growth. Podimo is a podcast and audiobook platform taking the Nordic Countries by storm with its service.
The company boasts its close connection with the creators it hosts on its platform, suggesting a healthy and appealing work relationship for creators to continue using Podimo as its host (an issue Spotify has had multiple times). The company's revenue-share model is not based on the size of following which gives the company a big boost up in the newer podcasters books.
Since its founding in 2019, Podimo has grown to 350+ employees across 20+ different countries and was named the fastest-growing podcast service in Finland. With Apple, Spotify, and Google, it’s easy to think smaller companies don’t have much chance, but Podimo is standing its ground in the Podcast sector and taking on big-name creators. We’re excited to see what recent funding and the acquisition of several companies will do for the company going forward.
