Director of Data Science & Engineering, Cubic Telecom

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven track record of at least 12+ years in data-related roles, including data engineering, data science, or business intelligence, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management position
• Strong background in data engineering principles, including data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, as well as data manipulation and analysis libraries and frameworks
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Snowflake, or NoSQL databases
• Experience with machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics techniques
• Demonstrated success in developing and deploying data-driven solutions that have a measurable impact on business outcomes
• Experience of working with multi-vendor, 3rd parties, and client teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
• High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

• The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence Analysts to drive the development and delivery of advanced data-driven products and solutions
• You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, leveraging data assets to enhance business outcomes, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and enhance business outcomes
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence Analysts
• Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
• Ensure the team's professional development and growth
• Work with the Product team to develop and execute a comprehensive data product strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives
• Identify opportunities for leveraging data assets to create innovative data products and solutions
• Oversee the end-to-end development of data products, from ideation to deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, network engineers, to integrate data products into our offerings
• Establish and maintain data governance practices, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Implement data quality measures and continuously improve data management processes
• Drive the development of data analytics capabilities to derive actionable insights from data
• Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization by delivering meaningful business intelligence and dashboards
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data science and engineering
