Who you are
- Strong understanding of relational databases and their usage in software development
- Comfortable with .NET
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and their function in web development
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

- Experience working on at least one feature end-to-end collaborating effectively with other developers

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an Intermediate Engineer who will be involved in all software development activities as part of an Agile team including estimating, sprint planning, software development life cycle activities, code reviews, research, deployments, and documentation creation
- In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that aligns with customer needs and requirements, technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices
- Contribute as an engineer in an agile team, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members, and working closely with database, back-end, and front-end stacks
- Ensure software deliverables align with the technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices
- Assist in building and executing integrated unit tests for all code modules
- Develop well-written, intent-revealing code
- Assist in ensuring observability of the team's code and products, and monitor them in a live environment, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Produce thorough documentation outlining high-level architecture, flow, sequence diagrams, blockers, risks, and other technical considerations as needed
- Work on bugs that need immediate attention to unblock our customers
- Participate in peer review activities
- Participate in a learning environment through collaboration, shared knowledge, and leadership
- Work within the agile team to gather production metrics and stakeholder feedback and use them to iterate and grow team projects
- Mentor and guide junior developers
- Collaborate with senior developers to work on features of a big project
- Collaborate with product managers to get clarity on project requirements

Its software allows recruiters to save time and money in the hiring process, as the standard 3-4 days for completing background checks is reduced to hours.
Currently, the solution is used by over 2,800 enterprises, including leading employers, staffing firms and property management companies. However, it is not the only player using AI to conduct background checks; Checkr, GoodHire, and HireRight are some of the leading companies that are solving this years-old problem in different parts of the world, and Certn will have to work hard to stand out in this crowded space.
The company looks poised for a period of rapid international expansion over the next few years, thanks to considerable funding amounting to $115 million in 2023 and the acquisition of UK-based background check provider Credence and Australian Intercheck. It also astutely hired CTO Susan Davis (ex-VP of Engineering at Dessa and Xtiva Financial Systems) in 2021.
