Role
Who you are
- You have some experience on the backend but your expertise and passion lie in the frontend. You are comfortable working with and evolving a design system, and understand different approaches for building reusable components. You have strong affinity with UX, and care about building accessible, maintainable user interfaces
- You value automated testing, observability, and monitoring to ensure reliability in production. You take ownership of features end-to-end, collaborating across the stack when needed. You have experience with designing frontend features dependent on backend systems and can make informed trade-offs
- You enjoy spreading frontend best practices, improving developer experience, and mentoring other engineers. You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong understanding of frontend fundamentals:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Responsive design and accessibility
- Component-based frontend frameworks and modern patterns, including state management and reactive rendering
- Design system usage and maintenance
- Styled components vs utility-first CSS (e.g., Tailwind)
- Client-side vs server-side rendering considerations
- Browser runtime
- Authentication and authorization (OAuth2, session management, token handling)
- Professional experience with and willingness to work with React and TypeScript
- Understanding of backend fundamentals:
- Database persistence (SQL vs NoSQL)
- HTTP and REST APIs
- Authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2)
- Performance and reliability considerations (latency, rate limiting, caching)
- Professional experience working on interfaces with a backend component
- Experience with automated testing and tooling to analyze user behavior and monitor web application performance
- Experience with AWS or other cloud-native environments
What the job involves
- We are looking for a full-stack developer who will take our client-facing applications to the next level by building new features and evolving or revamping existing interfaces — both in layout and under the hood — and make a meaningful impact in a primarily backend-driven organization
- Develop and improve client-facing (internal and external) application features and interfaces
- Ensure production reliability through automated testing and monitoring
- Own features end-to-end, making informed, cross-functional technical trade-offs
- Promote frontend best practices and mentor engineers to boost developer experience
- Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers to implement vision into high-quality UIs

While notable disruptors like Adyen, Stripe and PayPal have transformed the front end, offering merchants user-friendly and innovative solutions, the backend infrastructure has largely remained rooted in technology from the past.
