To provide the increasingly on-demand world with on-demand freight capacity.
Aspiring to become the "Uber for truckers", Cargomatic is a platform that connects shippers with available truckers who can help move their cargo.
Cargomatic allows shippers to list available jobs that local drivers can carry out and calculate the most efficient route before the job is presented to a network of drivers, just like Uber. Drivers are vetted by Cargomatic by reviewing their insurance and commercial licenses to ensure they have the necessary experience and training to transport another company’s goods.
Many other firms have tried and failed to launch similar concepts to Uber. Transport logistics is arguably more complicated due to cargo insurance, the driver, the dispatcher, pickup at the warehouse, drop-off with the warehouse manager, brokers and shippers. However, if Cargomatic is to crack this complicated puzzle, it would surely be a lucrative achievement.
