Role
Who you are
- Significant experience in UK contingent workforce compliance, with in-depth knowledge of IR35, AWR, and UK employment regulations
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach to managing compliance challenges and escalations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
- Strong attention to detail and experience conducting thorough audits and risk assessments
- Familiarity with compliance tools (e.g., Veremark, Onfido) is a plus but not essential, we’re happy to support learning in this area
What the job involves
- As a Contingent Workforce Compliance Manager (UK), you’ll play a key role in guiding our compliance strategies for Worksome and our clients
- You will navigate complex workforce regulations, advise on best practices, and ensure that our processes align with legal requirements
- This role offers high visibility and impact, with opportunities to collaborate across multiple teams and directly support clients
- Compliance Management: Oversee contingent workforce engagements, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and reducing risk
- IR35 and AWR Expertise: Manage IR35 determinations, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR)
- Background Checks (BGC): Supervise the background check process for UK workers, handling escalations and ensuring compliance
- Compliance Audits: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with relevant laws, including IR35 assessments and tax avoidance checks
- Client Support: Serve as a key contact for clients, offering support and addressing compliance-related inquiries
- Training and Onboarding: Provide guidance on new regulations, assisting internal teams with compliance onboarding
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams such as finance, customer success, and payroll to address compliance challenges and improve processes

Our take
Many companies today face a skills shortage and struggle to find and manage talent for their critical business projects. Worksome solves that problem by giving medium-to large-scale businesses access to an impressive network of skilled independent consultants and specialists.
Worksome owes much of its success to its ability to compete with more traditional Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Compared to these established analogue providers, Worksome offers faster, simpler and more fluid solutions.
It does, however, face stiff competition from companies such as Fiverr and Malt, which leverage similar tech tools. The platform is seeing continued success, though, and the announcement of a partnership with Papaya to facilitate global contingent workforce payments is another boost for the company's ongoing success.
