Who you are
- You bring 10+ years’ experience in engineering, including Python (Flask/Django), React.js, and hands-on development of web solutions
- You boast advanced technical skills in data pipelining, schema design, and building robust ELT pipelines (dbt, Airflow, cloud platforms)
- You are fluent in software architecture, containerisation, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data warehousing
- You have managed cross-functional teams, mentored engineers, and championed technical and professional growth
- You thrive on breaking down complex technical challenges for diverse audiences, driving projects to tangible outcomes
- You’re passionate about DevOps and modern tooling, continuously pushing the envelope on process improvement and code quality
What the job involves
- Reporting to: Head of Engineering
- As Engineering Manager, you’ll operate at both the visionary and technical frontier, steering teams who build, own, and transform essential platforms and products
- Lead multifaceted engineering teams at the crossroads of technical depth, product delivery, and stakeholder management
- Oversee and architect delivery of multiple software/data projects, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
- Guide and mentor software engineers ranging from junior to senior levels, fostering technical growth and a high-performance culture
- Partner with product managers and technical leads on deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines
- Drive innovation in engineering processes—promoting best practices, DevOps, and technical standards
- Translate technical architectures into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences, bridging strategy and execution
- Engage with client stakeholders, managing partnerships and ensuring solution adoption

QuantSpark helps governments and businesses to strategically apply data science through the development of complex decision-making software. Primarily, its work involves analysing large datasets and systems in order to understand customer behaviour and help clients make informed decisions for strategic planning in sales and marketing.
In recent years, big data has become central to the operation of businesses large and small, and this has led to great demand for data scientists fluent in sophisticated modelling and analysis. QuantSpark seeks to go a step further, providing a service which combines data science with commercial insight- effectively providing both services through one transaction. By doing this, QuantSpark hopes to offer clients a more meaningful insight into their data than a standard consultancy could.

Adam Hadley
(Co-Founder & CEO)With Master's degrees from Oxford and KCL, Adam divides their time between running QuantSpark and Tech Against Terrorism- the world's preeminent NGO helping to tackle terrorists' use of the internet.
People progressing
Anastasia is the Head of People and Operations. Anastasia joined the business as EA to Adam, the CEO, and quickly built out a department of her own which continues to expand.
Sophie joined the team in 2021 as a Senior Product Manager. They were quickly promoted to Product Lead and again to Head of Product.
Daniel joined as a Data Analyst in 2019 and now leads the Analytics Engineering Team and is an integral part of the business.
