Our take

Italic is a membership service that gives its users the chance to save up to 80% on goods from the world's top manufacturers. The platform showcases a wide variety of products, including everything from fashion to home décor. While some customers may be hesitant to pay a membership fee to access Italic's deals, the company states that 93% of new members break even on their first order.

What differentiates Italic from other discount shopping platforms is that it sources its products directly from manufacturers, rather than brands. For example, Italic showcases bags from the same factory that creates Miu Miu and Prada bags, which are unbranded. This allows Italic to offer its customers the same quality as luxury designer brands but at a fraction of the cost.

While Italic offers its members the chance to get their hands on luxury products for less, the company faces the significant problem of selling unbranded products to a market that is often obsessed with labels and brand identities. To address this, Italic offers a 30-day membership trial, refunds, and other perks such as free shipping, a gift concierge service, and 24-hour shopping support in order to attract and retain members.
