Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (sales, business development, consulting, etc.)
- Ideally a good network in the B2B environment and in payments/fintech
- Experience engaging and dealing with higher levels within organizations (up to C-Level)
- Entrepreneurial thinking and action
- Strong communication skills
- Customer-focused, highly motivated to take ownership, find hands-on solutions and drive impactful results
- Fluency in German with a good understanding of English; additional languages are an advantage
What the job involves
- Do you enjoy building relationships, understanding customer problems, finding & presenting individual solutions? Are you eager to challenge yourself, problem-solve and steer big customer deals through internal and external stakeholder groups?
- As a Strategic Enterprise Sales Manager you will be responsible for end2end managing new enterprise deals: From understanding customer needs and requirements to internally creating the best-possible solution, presenting it and winning a new Billie customer.
- This role involves working closely with our founders and senior management to successfully get deals through. You will work cross-functionally with other commercial teams to strategise on the best outreach
- Properly understand a customer's corporate setup, commercial and technical needs and decision making structure
- Develop the best-possible solution for the customer, internally aligning with our product, operations and legal teams
- Present full end2end pitch (incl. product demo, negotiations, etc.) and bring potential other internal stakeholders to the table if necessary
- Collaborate closely with our product and marketing team to ensure we have the right product features in place and are well prepared to scale our go-to-market approach across multiple countries
- Successfully conduct closing negotiations with the partner and hand customer over to our account management team
Our take
Buy Now, Pay Later(BNPL) options have exploded in popularity in recent years, with companies such as Klarna and Clearpay providing an additional line of credit to customers allowing them to split the cost of their purchases over several installments. Billie is a BNPL built for business transactions, using machine-learning driven risk models to responsibly finance B2B purchases.
With over 100,00 customers processing more than €750 million on its platform, Billie does not face much competition in its market. While BNPL firms like Afterpay and Klarna could theoretically move into the B2B space, they are specialised in B2C financing and lack Billie's data on the B2B sector. Billie also boasts a range of features designed specifically for intra-company sales such as instant verification, invoicing tools and business payment options which give it a large advantage against any new rivals.
Billie has raised a significant amount of funding from investors, most recently in a 2021 Series C round. Additionally Its 2022 integration with Klarna, allowing companies with a Klarna installation to swiftly switch over to Billie's payment options for B2B sales has removed a major roadblock to its future expansion. This move, alongside its entrance into more markets in Europe, will likely speed the company's ascension to Unicorn status and solidify its market lead in the BNPL space.
