Role

Who you are

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • You have 5-7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, preferably with hands-on experience building and growing B2B brands
  • A strong understanding of brand strategy and creative campaigns
  • You have an ownership mentality with a bias for action & thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • You’re a collaborator and strong cross-functional team player with a proven track record of gaining alignment and influence quickly with a diverse group of stakeholders. You can navigate conversations between brand marketers and omnichannel leadership
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

What the job involves

  • Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Brand Marketing will be responsible for developing our B2B brand marketing strategy to drive awareness and affinity
  • This role will focus specifically on our key business audiences, including property managers/owners and merchants in our Bilt Neighborhood Rewards program
  • You will be responsible for developing new strategies for engaging these audiences, including partnerships, events, content, brand campaigns, and more in order to build an awareness of Bilt as a resident loyalty program and a neighborhood loyalty program
  • You’ll work cross functionally across our marketing team, engineering team, product team, data, and more to bring these strategies to life
  • As the primary owner of our B2B brand marketing strategy, you’ll also build relationships with key existing partners across our merchants & property owners, as well as seek out new partnerships to drive ongoing brand awareness of Bilt in our key categories
  • Own our B2B brand strategy to build awareness for Bilt (for merchants as a neighborhood loyalty program and for properties as a resident loyalty program)
  • Leverage our events, content, and operations teams to develop and execute on campaigns to further Bilt’s narrative
  • Develop tools for tracking the success of our brand initiatives, and lead efforts to iterate once we figure out what works
  • Determine how to best engage our partners including branded swag, events, incentive programs, and more
  • Be a critical player in creating impactful brand moments surrounding Rent Day for our partners
  • Work with our growth marketing team to develop an efficient ads strategy targeting our partners and prospective partners
  • Work closely with content & influencer teams when necessary to create B2B focused content

Our take

Millions of Americans participate in credit card programs that enable them to earn points from everyday spending. Bilt is a loyalty program that enables renters to earn points from what is typically their largest monthly outgoing: rent.

Landlords have long been unwilling to accept payment by credit card due to the high fees involved, an issue Bilt is tackling head-on. Within a few months of launching in mid-2021, Bilt was serving more than 2 million rental units. Whilst focusing on rent payments in the beginning, Bilt hopes to morph into an end-to-end service for renters looking to buy a home, which could eventually involve becoming a mortgage provider.

Bilt is targeting a lucrative market of 109 million renters in the US alone, with 4 million rental units using its platform. The company has secured impressive funding of more than $200 million led by General Catalyst Partners, which it is using to expand its Rewards Alliance programme - a partnership of multifamily, single family and student housing operators - alongside the local merchant focused Neighborhood Rewards program.
