Who you are

You are passionate about programming and have a sense of quality and polish. As a developer you are also analytical and genuinely interested in the tech you work with, wanting to build an excellent tech foundation for games
We want you to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and to be a strong collaborator, able to work in a fast paced, demanding, yet fun and professional environment
You are very skilled in game development, being part of multiple game projects before. Preferably experienced in Unity and C#, but the experience of other game engines is good
You have experience of other languages such as C++, Python or Java
You like to work with tech and architect solutions
You are an excellent teammate who likes to discuss solutions and ideas as a group
You are able to lead other developers
You are keen to grow and develop yourself

What the job involves

King New Games is looking for a passionate gameplay developer to help explore and forge exciting gameplay experiences to captivate our audiences
You will be working in the game team on one of our new titles, hand in hand with our creative team, trying to find that next innovative spark
Work closely with your team, both creatives and developers
Able to architect, design and deliver features, foundations and tools for Unity games, reaching high quality for a lasting game
Be that extra eye on coordinating the technical quality of the project and be the driver for improvements and innovation
Leading other developers helping them grow in their role and competence
Collaborate with other counterparts both within and outside of the game studio, to both share and gain knowledge
Be part of the creative journey, actively contribute to the creative process, and then complete it

Our take

Gaming is one of the world’s fastest-growing industries, but many still view gaming as inconvenient, inaccessible, or niche. King solves that problem by designing mobile games with broad market appeal.

Since its launch, King has released more than 200 titles in 14 languages, including Candy Crush, Farm Heroes, Bubble Witch, Pet Rescue, and more. The company pioneered in-game spending, which allows it to monetize user interactions without charging them to buy the game. Titles such as Candy Crush are designed to be highly accessible to demographics that wouldn’t usually define themselves as “gamers”, including older users. King now boasts more than 200 million monthly active users, making it a clear market leader.

In 2016, King was bought by gaming giant Activision Blizzard, which has since been purchased by Microsoft. While the company still operates with a high degree of independence, it has greatly profited from the financial and marketing support of its parent corporation. This support has been instrumental in enabling King to maintain its competitiveness in the constantly evolving mobile gaming industry.
