Who you are

- Background and extensive experience in testing native applications on Apple OSes
- Good understanding of the software development life-cycle process
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes
- Good understanding of CI/CD processes and tools
- Good understanding of software engineering

Desirable
- Expertise in Windows or Linux systems
- Understanding of system programming languages (C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, Lua, etc.)
- Experience with code debugging and profiling
- Experience working in distributed teams
- Experience with Agile methodology
What the job involves
- This team is part of our VPN department
- The team members are spread in different office locations across Europe
- They are responsible for raising the quality standards of our native clients on all platforms as well as maintaining, improving and executing test plans
- They are working in strict contact with our automation engineers to get repetitive tasks implemented in our automated test suites while focusing on the improvements of the testing process
- Also, they work hand-in-hand with the development and product teams and will provide quality feedback on every stage of the software development lifecycle
- Collaborate with app developers to analyse various complex challenges related to (but not limited to) the macOS, and iOS native applications
- Ensure best testing practices are used in product development
- Create, execute and maintain manual functional and non-functional tests
- Help automation test engineers develop better automated tests
- Helping to test the web and mobile applications on a regular basis to ensure that only a high-quality product is released to our customers

Proton maintains its pro-privacy ethos using a Swiss VPN, protected by strict Swiss privacy laws. Proton also funds charities and movements such as the World Wide Web Foundation and Netblocks, further cementing it as an influential NGO.
Perhaps Proton’s most important quality is its determination to maintain independence from advertisers and companies. Originally founded on donations, Proton has funded itself via grants rather than venture capital so that all of its customer's data is never at risk of being mined. One effect of this is that to keep up with the increasing competition in the data privacy sector, Proton has expanded its services to allow more cross-selling and simultaneously has more products to offer, such as drive and calendar privacy.
