Who you are
- This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a tangible impact during a critical stage of the company’s growth
- 6+ years of experience in compensation design and operations, ideally within high-growth tech companies (Series D or later stage preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of compensation frameworks, job leveling methodologies, benchmarking practices, and complex equity programs (options, RSUs, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with systems like Rippling (HRIS) or Ashby (ATS) is a plus
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution—you can architect sophisticated programs and also implement them
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfortable operating independently and driving initiatives in a fast-paced, high-standards environment
What the job involves
- EvenUp is looking for a strategic, execution-focused Compensation Partner to shape and scale our compensation philosophy and programs. Reporting to the VP of People, this high-visibility role requires someone who can balance long-term, innovative thinking with hands-on execution
- In this role, you will design, implement, and manage EvenUp’s compensation programs
- Own and continuously refine EvenUp’s global compensation framework, including job architecture, leveling, strategic benchmarking, and geographic pay bands, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness
- Drive company-wide compensation cycles (merit increases, promotions, equity refreshes), implementing best practices to ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with business goals
- Serve as the trusted advisor to managers and recruiters on complex compensation decisions for new hires and transfers, providing data-backed recommendations
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team on headcount and compensation planning to meet our business goals in a fiscally responsible manner
Our take
Every year, millions of personal injury cases in the US are resolved with only a small fraction going to trial, leaving many victims potentially under-compensated due to inaccurate settlement proposals. EvenUp aims to change this by leveraging AI technology to streamline the assessment of injury cases.
The AI tools evaluate raw case files, including medical and police records, creating tailored "demand packages" that present comprehensive compensation arguments. This improves lawyer performance and victim outcomes.
Despite concerns about AI bias and privacy, EvenUp has garnered significant investor interest, closing a funding round in 2025 that was one of the largest in the history of legal AI. Now valued at over $2 billion, it is investing in its team and introducing new techniques and products for personal injury and other legal areas.
