Our take
AmpUp was founded to support the transition to electric vehicles, which is a core strategy in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Despite recent advances in EVs, the relative inaccessibility of charging points leaves the vehicles out-of-the-question for many consumers. So the company hosts a charging operating system that simplifies charging for drivers, charging point hosts, and fleets.
It does this by connecting EV drivers to charging hosts in the residential, private and public segments, thus enabling more drivers to go electric without worrying about home-charging solutions. Drivers use the company's Driver App to locate charging stations, while hosts use its Charger Management features to determine who uses their chargers and manage the profit they make on charging usage.
AmpUp secured substantial funding in late 2024 and has reported impressive growth, with considerable upticks to both subscription revenue and charging port utilization. Its secured a number of partnerships too, and launched an EV charging pricing recommendation engine, putting it in a good position as more people consider electric cars.
