Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience as a product designer, UX/UI designer, interaction designer of cross-platform experiences
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your experience with end-to-end product design. Case studies should cover the problems you worked on, the process to solve the problems and the impact made
- Proficient in Figma & creating dynamic prototypes
- Solid understanding of user-centered design (for both mobile and web), UX principles and best practices
- Have current and valid eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
- Proven familiarity with Material Design and Apple’s HIG
- Experience within the marriage or dating industry
- Demonstrated experience creating B2B or SaaS products
- Past experience working in a fast-moving startup
What the job involves
- Lead design projects: Take ownership of your designs from start to finish, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and align with our product vision
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure our app meets the needs of our Muslim users
- Embrace data-driven design: Use data to inform your design decisions, creating an app that truly resonates with our Muslim community
- Create visually stunning and engaging designs: Develop impactful and engaging UI animations that elevate our UX and bring our app to life
- Maintain our design system: Actively contribute to and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across our product
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends: Keep abreast of the latest design trends and technologies to continuously improve our product

Our take
Muzz is a dating app for Muslims, designed to help people "find their perfect partner while respecting their religious beliefs". Although it appears to operate in a highly competitive space, the Muzz app is unique in catering to those dating to marry, unlike more casual-leaning options such as Tinder.
Formerly known as Muzmatch (the company was forced to switch up its branding after losing a legal battle to match-making giant Match.com), Muzz supplies a modern but tradition-honouring alternative to arranged introductions and family-led courtship. Like most dating apps, it offers both a free and premium "gold" version that comes with advanced capabilities such as unlimited profiles and more in-depth search priorities. Many free features are tailored for Muslim dating, such as the ability to add a chaperone (Wali) to conversations, and religious filters for sect and how much they pray.
As members of the Muslim community continue to embrace more modern dating methods, Muzz has positioned itself well to serve the billions looking for love around the world. Despite its loss in the courts, the company appears positive in its rebrand - even adding new features alongside its new look - and it will be an interesting one to watch as it grows into the future.
