Who you are
- JavaScript / TypeScript – core programming languages
- Node.js – comfortable working across our backend stack
- AWS infrastructure and services
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Git – version control and collaborative workflows
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Knowledge of scalable system architecture and design patterns
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and a habit of staying up to date with how they can improve engineering workflows
Desirable
- Container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, or similar)
- MongoDB or other NoSQL database
- SQL databases and query optimisation
- Distributed systems experience
- Message queues and background job processing
- Caching strategies and performance optimisation
- Security best-practices implementation
- Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling
- Experience in a growth-stage startup or B2B SaaS

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to give our product teams the infrastructure, tooling, and automation they need to ship reliably and move fast. You will treat our internal platform as a product in its own right — designing and running the CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling that our Product Engineers rely on every day
- Like everyone in Product Engineering, you'll avoid working in a silo: you'll stay close to how the product actually runs, and pick up work outside strict infrastructure boundaries where it's the right thing to do
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that let product teams ship safely and frequently
- Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure (AWS), balancing reliability, scalability, security, and cost
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code so environments are reproducible, auditable, and easy to reason about
- Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and observability so issues are caught early and diagnosed quickly
- Build self-service tooling and clear documentation so product teams can provision, deploy, and debug without waiting on a ticket
- Partner with Product Engineers to understand where infrastructure or tooling is slowing delivery, and prioritise platform improvements against real developer pain points
- Champion security, performance, and operational best practices across the engineering team
- Develop internal tools, improve test infrastructure, and occasionally work on product features
- Leverage AI to improve engineering workflows by building cloud-based agent tools and helping teams adopt effective practices
- We encourage you to talk to product engineers and understand the friction that's really slowing them down
- Work as equals with product engineers to find the best infrastructure and tooling solutions
- Care about your work from conception through production and beyond
- Balance shipping velocity with reliability, security, and developer experience
- Speak up with ideas, concerns, and feedback to help the team improve
- Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities and seek better approaches
