Role
Who you are
- End-to-end design ownership: proven experience owning UI/UX from discovery and ideation to high-fidelity design and shipped features, ideally as the sole designer in a small team or startup environment
- Fast, iterative problem solver: able to quickly translate business needs into wireframes and prototypes, iterate with stakeholders and users, and converge toward simple, effective solutions
- Strong discovery & user-centric mindset: genuine care for users, with hands-on experience conducting and synthesizing user research (interviews, usability tests, surveys) into clear, actionable insights
- Execution excellence: highly hands-on designer who manages timelines, collaborates closely with Product and Engineering, and ensures designs are delivered and shipped with a high bar for quality
- SaaS / consumer-recurring experience: familiarity with SaaS and/or consumer recurring products, with the ability to benchmark competitors and apply best-in-class UX patterns pragmatically
- AI adopter: curious and proactive in using AI tools to accelerate design workflows, improve decision-making, and raise overall quality
- Fluent English and French
What the job involves
- Own the UI/UX strategy and execution for both marketplace (client side) and SaaS interfaces (artists side)
- UI/UX designer is part of the product team with 2 PM and 1 PO an is responsible for the interfaces for clients artists
- Marketplace UX/UI is quite stable and mature, SaaS UX/UI is to be built
- Own the entire design lifecycle end-to-end: from discovery and user research to wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and shipped features
- Translate product and business needs into intuitive and consumer-centric experiences, especially for consumer recurring journeys
- Lead user discovery independently by conducting interviews, usability tests, and analysis, and turning insights into clear, actionable design decisions
- Design scalable and consistent interfaces by building, maintaining, and evolving a design system and reusable UI components
- Collaborate closely with Product, Tech and business stakeholders (Steerco) to ensure fast iteration and high-quality execution

Our take
Parisian Singulart aims to be the one-stop shop for people who are ready to invest in some upscale home decor. A large part of its pitch is built on its support for artists, with all the art and furniture listed on its site being the work of independent creators rather than mass-produced.
This means that every piece is unique, allowing the marketplace to stand out from many of its peers. Interestingly, it also boasts that half its artists are women, which is a rarity in the art world. It has partnerships with some more well-known artists, as well as operating a sister site - balthasart - for emerging creators.
Singulart has built a sizeable user base, and it's gallery lists the work of thousands of artists and designers from over 100 countries. It has more recently implemented an AI search feature which allows users to find art by using natural language, and moves like this will cement its strong position in the art sales space.
