Who you are

4+ years of professional software development experience with Scala functional programming
Experience with Akka, Typelevel, CatsEffect or ZIO
Experience building REST API services
Comfort with large data sets, preferably experience with Redis PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or DB2
Knowledge of security best practices for application architecture, communication protocols, and AWS infrastructure
Comfort with workflows in Gitlab, Jira, and Confluence

What the job involves

Axoni is looking for a Scala Software Engineer who will be responsible for software development for our biggest client initiatives
Our projects vary across multiple industries including Bond Issuance, Stock Loan, and Swaps to deliver a seamless, optimized experience all the way to the end user
You will work directly with our clients to understand and solve their largest pain points
We are a backend Scala organization with expertise in Go and Solidity
Our frontend runs on React. We use multiple frameworks such as Zio, Akka, and Play. Some other tools we use include Kafka and Postgres

Our take

Institutions involved in equity swaps face several obstacles in today's financial landscape. Bespoke connections are required, price changes result in complications, and the potential for disputes is huge.

Axoni develops blockchain technology that is designed to solve these problems. The fintech startup provides a standardized framework and automated contract records to minimize the potential for discrepancies.

Its customers already include BlackRock, Citi and Goldman Sachs, and it has raised nearly $110 million in funding to date. With its proof of concept and funding, Axoni is setting out to provide the first real-world application of blockchain technology to the finance industry.
