Who you are
- Have 2+ years of software engineering experience at a fast-paced startup, mostly in TypeScript and React
- Have been coding outside of work for 5+ years — through side projects, open source, and more recently, AI
- Have strong software engineering skills and are eager to grow them
- Love challenging and ambiguous problems
- Thrive in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment
- Studied Computer Science (or related field) — or dropped out to build stuff
What the job involves
- We’re building a brand new product, and this is your chance to join as a founding engineer. In just a few months, we’ve already hit product-market fit and closed six-figure deals with a clear path to much bigger contracts
- We’re not starting from scratch either: our existing product has generated millions in revenue. Now, we’re evolving that user base toward our agentic future while consistently bringing in new customers
- You’ll work in a small, nimble team (4–5 engineers) tackling challenging, ambiguous problems at the cutting edge of technology and learn something new every day
- We believe the effort and raw hours you put in directly shapes the outcome. Speed matters, and we move with focus and intent
- Multi-agent architecture - Build and refine how multiple agents collaborate to solve complex workflows
- Evals Engine - Provide users with a powerful toolkit to quickly bring automations to production-grade reliability
- Feedback-driven learning - Capture user fixes in real time and teach agents to improve themselves automatically on the next run
- Authentication - Build seamless login and 2FA flows that let agents capture a session once and securely reuse it throughout the platform

It’s generally accepted that most workers in many sectors will complete at least one repetitive computer task within their work day. Magical is a platform hoping to remove the ache of these mundane tasks through its automation system.
The company doesn’t use specific integrations or APIs, rather, it simply collects repeatedly used data that can then be collated on the likes of a Google sheet or email. The platform stops you from typing the same thing over and over by populating repeatedly used text such as contact information. It's said to save an average of seven hours of work a week with its free-to-download Chrome extension.
Founded in 2020, Magical has attracted considerable funding and a growing enterprise footprint. Alongside this, the company has worked with over 10,000 businesses, including Salesforce, Uber, Bolt, Disney and Facebook, and is now moving beyond simple productivity tools into more advanced AI-driven automation. Recent partnerships, such as with Beacon Health System, signal a shift toword agentic AI capable of executing complex workflows within existing systems, particularly in high-stakes environments like healthcare.
