Who you are
- CPA license required
- You have experience preparing and reviewing Federal and State income tax returns for businesses; preparing quarterly estimates; handling tax notices and disputes
- You are familiar with the following tax filings found in this guide: specifically, form 1120/5472 for Non-US residents, and form 1065 for partnerships
- You are comfortable with a startup environment and can easily navigate ambiguity and act as a thought leader acting with minimal direction
- You can use critical thinking, reasoning, and emotional intelligence to recognize details of situations and identify solutions, conclusions, or best approaches
- You possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Effective English communication skills, both written and oral, are required
What the job involves
- You will be working as a CPA in a client-facing role to build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of clients providing appropriate tax solutions for small businesses and entrepreneurs
- You will conduct meetings with clients to discuss their current practices and financial needs, reviewing financial statements and tax return preparation, filing forms, general ledger, and financial statement reviews checking for errors, and performing attestation audits to ensure compliance with required organization
- You will develop the process for providing tax advice and tax filings for our customers
- You will establish policies and procedures based on industry standards, developments, and regulations and adapt them as changes arise to maintain and innovate best-in-class tax practices
- You will collaborate with other team members as a subject matter expert to help with the creation of educating content for our customers

Lots of people have great ideas, but the skills needed as an entrepreneur don't necessarily include the time-consuming and difficult work of business administration. Doola is a "business in a box" service, aiming to provide everything a startup needs to launch as a limited liability company in the US, including a bank account, tax support, and access to US payments.
Doola is aimed squarely at smaller-scale businesses and the creator economy, which is a smart move given the rapid proliferation of small-scale startups in recent years. This is partly driven by the US Census project to generate millions of new business applications and by the rise of monetized content platforms like Twitch and Youtube. So far, doola has been used to launch thousands of companies from 130 different countries, and the company is experiencing 7x year-on-year growth.
Between 2022 and 2024, doola closed funding rounds amounting to $9 million, which are being used to hire new talent in product, engineering, and R&D, and extend its marketing reach. In the longer term, the company is aiming to provide a payments solution, utilizing the extensive data it has gathered on startup operations to offer financial services that will supplement its core product.
