Who you are
- The ideal candidate will be looking to progress to a Project Manager role - with the timescales and milestones for this progression agreed with the hiring manager. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for those seeking a project management career within the renewable industry
- Engineering, construction, science, commercial or project-management background
- Experience working on construction projects is desirable, particularly when applying project management tools to manage key project deliverables (e.g. safety, cost, time, quality, etc)
- Experience on energy infrastructure projects is a bonus (batteries, onshore or offshore wind, solar, peaking plants, interconnectors/HVDC, thermal power generation)
- You’re an open, clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively
- You’re very organised
- You’re enthusiastic and curious about the energy storage industry
- You have a curious mind and pride yourself on always learning, adapting and improving
- You’re known as a problem solver, someone who enjoys bringing order to chaos and taking quick action to move things forward

What the job involves
- The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will be responsible for supporting our Project Managers (PMs) to deliver Field’s battery storage assets from the start of construction through to operations
- The role will report to the Head of Construction and will work closely with the Project Managers across several projects
- Assisting PMs with general day to day activities, with opportunities to take management responsibilities for some packages of work
- Liaise with and assisting managing BoP, EPC and BESS supply contractors ensuring contractual obligations are performed and projects are always on track
- Assist PM’s to manage the relationship with, and the works of the DNOs following project handover including having regular meetings to coordinate technical and commercial matters related to the connection agreement
- Collaborating with Field’s development team on any pending planning matters such as non-material amendments
- Assist PM’s with Landowner engagement for any arrangements prior to construction and during construction on any complaints
- Assist PM’s to manage the performance of services carried out by consultants we appoint to support on the execution of the projects such as Technical Advisors, Health and Safety, and Environmental
- Assist PM’s with reporting on and monitoring all QHSE, Contract, Design, Construction aspects of the projects
- Work closely with Field PM’s and our Finance team to monitor and report on the project budget
- Visit our sites regularly to meet with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
- Assist PM’s to prepare the weekly and monthly project reports including collating documentation and evidence required for lender reporting
- Support Field PM’s to proactively Identify any risks or opportunities that affect the project program, budget or quality and take actions to mitigate the risks and utilise the opportunities to benefit the project
- Help to organise any preliminary surveys to be undertaken prior to construction commencement.
- Assist PM’s to manage and deal with suppliers to coordinate deliveries in case of free issue materials
