Who you are
- Professional Experience: At least 2 years working in a professional engineering team
- Backend Knowledge: Experience with backend frameworks (we use Clojure but are open to those with transferable skills)
- Frontend Familiarity: Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks like Vue or React is a plus
- API Expertise: Strong understanding of building and working with REST APIs
- Database Skills: Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Best Practices: You follow documentation best practices and strive for clean, maintainable code
- Collaboration: Enjoy working with product and design teams to deliver the best possible product

What the job involves
- You will play a critical role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining Crossbeam’s backend systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
- Consistently ship features and enhancements with guidance from team members
- Work across the full stack of our application, with a focus on backend development
- Create, test, and deploy high-quality code with a focus on REST API development and backend services written in Clojure
- Leverage workflow orchestration tools like Temporal to help the team manage distributed backend workflows and ensure reliability and scalability
- Use Datadog to monitor and improve the performance and reliability of backend systems
- Prioritize and address support issues reported by users or the Customer Success team
- Identify areas for improvement in the codebase and contribute to enhancements
- Work closely with engineers and members of teams like Product, Growth, and Customer Success to launch new features
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Continuously learn from and contribute to your team
- Cultivate an environment where questions and discussions improve the team as a whole

Our take
Reveal helps partnership, marketing, and sales teams within a business pool their CRM data, compare insights across different companies, and ultimately increase their win rates. Its product integrates across major tech stack components like Slack, Salesforce, and Hubspot, and helps expand a company’s network to identify and pursue new leads.
The hope is that sales teams will increasingly begin to adopt an open collaboration model, relying more heavily than ever on shared data and technology. It’s certainly the case that the boom in available data - crucial to an effective sales and growth strategy - weighs heavily on individual teams, and a shared approach to insights and analytics will certainly ease the load.
With Reveal, sales teams are able to adapt to this increasingly collaborative manner of working, that is likely to prove the most effective way forwards. With a founding team of successful startup launchers and project managers, the company has the voice and expertise to push this potentially groundbreaking and exciting concept into broader adoption.
With strong funding at its back, the company will support an increasing headcount across the business, as well as invest in further product development. Its recent acquisition of PartnerHacker, a media platform focused on the partnership ecosystem, marks a major milestone in bringing its new "Nearbound" concept to market - a Go-To-Market strategy that will "bring partner intel and influence to every step in the customer journey".

- Like many, the founders of Reveal strongly believed that the success of a company was based on the talent that made up the company. They knew that the best talent was available globally, and found opportunity in the pandemic to follow this intuition. What initially was an effort to have a large talent pool ultimately led to a company that spans over 6 time zones. The people who live in these time zones differ significantly. Because of this, Reveal created a DEI policy early on to continue to have access to the greatest talent around the world and ensure that talent would be able to grow their careers within the company.
- We include gender-inclusive wording in our job ads; we don't require specific experience that privileges higher socioeconomic backgrounds; we are deliberate in our sourcing efforts; we take a structured interview approach when screening candidates, which is proven to reduce bias; and a varied interview panel.
