Role
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of experience in a technical solutions or architecture role, ideally customer-facing and focused on system integration and infrastructure deployments
- You maintain a public code portfolio (GitHub, GitLab, etc.) showing:
- Real-world Python projects: tools / integrations / backends (not just scripts)
- Use of Docker and/or Kubernetes for packaging and deployment
- Build or integrate with external APIs over HTTPS (3rd party or self-hosted)
- Infrastructure as Code – preferably with Terraform
- You’ve built and shipped things others rely on — whether internal utilities, customer-specific solutions, or production systems
- You’re confident in cloud-native infrastructure, especially on AWS (GCP or Azure are a plus), and comfortable debugging across application, infra, and deployment layers
- You enjoy working directly with customers — mapping out requirements, explaining systems to engineers and stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity
- You’re curious, resourceful, and persistent in untangling complex technical environments, where the path isn’t always fully defined
Desirable
- Experience working in a fast-moving startup
- Experience in technical pre-sales and/or Life Sciences
- Background in Life Sciences environments or scientific computing workflows
What the job involves
- Join Seqera’s Customer Experience Team as a Technical Solution Architect, and help the world’s leading Life Sciences & Biotech organizations run faster, smarter, and more scalable data workflows
- Combine system-level thinking with hands-on coding, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration to lead technical deployments of the Seqera Ecosystem across diverse customer environments and shape their success with our product suite
- Technical Onboarding: Lead the technical workstreams for enterprise customer implementations, across a diverse range of cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments
- Pre-Sales Engagement: Serve as the key technical partner during the pre-sales process, working closely with Sales and Scientific Development to shape solutions, lead POC implementation, and leverage proven-in-the-field best practices to meet customer needs
- System Review & Optimization Services: Work with complex customer environments to assess what’s working, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. Lead deep-dive technical reviews on topics like infrastructure configuration, automation, cloud cost-efficiency, and clearly communicate both findings and solutions to engineers and decision-makers alike
- Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain supporting tools that simplify deployment, strengthen automation and troubleshooting, and deliver tailored solutions that meet specific customer needs
- Advanced Support & Escalation: Act as the technical backbone for our client-facing support operations. Spot patterns across inbound channels, surface systemic problems, and liaise with internal teams like DevOps & Engineering to drive lasting fixes and efficient resolutions

Our take
Commercial DNA sequencing and advances in biometrics have led to an explosion in biological data, which is likely to prove critical in tackling the major problems facing the life sciences. The problem is, the data is so vast in quantity and diverse in type that analysing it and managing it can prove prohibitively expensive. This is where data orchestration and workflow platform Seqera Labs comes into its own.
Seqera is focused predominantly on facilitating big data analysis and management in the life sciences, and it has gotten impressive traction. Its Nextflow product, a distributed data analysis solution, has been used by over 10,000 organizations. This has included teams working on COVID sequencing, and on cancers.
What's so valuable about its offering is that it can be used by people who understand the data without the need for external teams, which has led to it becoming an industry standard. Seqera has been funded generously, and acquired AI bioinformatics company TinyBio, empowering it to play a pivotal role in key life-sciences developments going forward.
