Role
Who you are
- At least +5 years of relevant experience as a product designer or UX/UI designer, creating user experiences and interfaces for digital products
- A strong portfolio that shows you were directly responsible for the success of products that benefited real users and demonstrate a passion for design
- An expert in interactivity, accessibility, design systems, and the fundamentals of typography, hierarchy, and layout
- Well-versed in the design and research tools and methodologies used at Vanilla
- An excellent communicator and storyteller, visually and verbally, using sketches, prototypes, and presentations to communicate and move projects forward with less design-oriented stakeholders
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and accountable, with the ability to work independently and in collaborative settings
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities, unblocking yourself, and balancing immediate short-term needs with long-term strategic goals
What the job involves
- In this role, you will collaborate with PMs, SMEs, PMM, and key stakeholders in creatively solving problems through design that helps our customers and their clients build meaningful legacies
- You will own projects and enhancements fundamental to crafting Vanilla's product experience through research, design, feedback, and delivery
- You will influence a product's vision through design exploration, documentation, research, testing, and, most importantly, excellent communication
- Advocate for design and experience priorities within interdisciplinary teams that push for innovation, prioritize usability, and balance business objectives through the entire product lifecycle
- Own the research, design, production, and testing of end-to-end high-quality user flows, wireframes, and product screens
- Balance the nuances of research, user flows, product requirements, and UX practices with well-crafted, thoughtful user interface design
- Create high-fidelity UI and UX specs that communicate requirements. Contribute to creating and managing Vanilla's Design System Aether
- Drive connections between your work and others. Set a standard and hold others to a high bar of quality of design for the entire team
- Champion for design and innovation within the organization and the broader financial and design community

Vanilla supplies a platform for wealth advisors to create documentation, as well as monitor and visualize estate planning, so that they can speed up and optimize their processes to better serve their clients.
Vanilla's comprehensive and fully digital platform is the first of its kind, leveraging vast industry experience to support legacy operations from start to end. It is able to simplify even the most complicated estates, and display clear information on how assets will be passed down, as well as any changes that occur over time.
