Role
Who you are
- Proven experience in operational analytics, business intelligence, or performance analysis
- Strong understanding of operational processes with the ability to connect metrics to business outcomes
- Self-starter mentality with demonstrated ability to identify and analyse opportunities independently
- Proficiency in SQL (experience with Google BigQuery preferred) and advanced data visualisation tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Experience analysing operational workflows and service delivery metrics preferred
- Knowledge of financial services operations preferred
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights
- Strong business partnering skills with analytical curiosity and a proven track record of turning data into actionable improvements
What the job involves
- Analyse and monitor operational performance metrics to drive efficiency improvements and enhance service delivery across operations in IG Group. You will be embedded within the Trading and Operations Transformation team, working closely with Client Servicing, Payments, and Onboarding functions to identify opportunities that deliver tangible business value
- You will be an analytical voice within Operations, proactively identifying performance trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering, to translate insights into measurable operational impact
- Track and analyse operational performance across client servicing, payments, and onboarding operations
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering teams to develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards monitoring operational KPIs and beyond
- Drive cross-functional initiatives by providing analytical support for operational transformation and efficiency projects
- Proactively identify operational inefficiencies and quantify the impact of process improvements
- Generate actionable insights on process optimisation and automation opportunities
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, translating operational data into clear business cases

Founded in 1974 by Stuart Wheeler as a UK-based spread betting company for gold, IG Group abbreviated from Investors Gold Index, spent the first quarter century focused on trading physical assets. It was only in the year 2000 that it was finally listed on the London Stock Exchange and its gradual evolution into the world of fintech began.
By 2011 after various gambling industry-related controversies, the company had played a part in numerous international buyouts before finally narrowing its focus down to financial wagers. During the latter half of that decade, IG shut down its binary options trading platform and focused instead on building an investment portfolio with partner BlackRock Investments, all whilst maintaining its Forex and CFD trading processes. Since then, it has become a fast-paced market leader in the investment space.
In recent years, IG Group has developed major platforms for various trading actions and has grown profit and revenue significantly despite various investment setbacks. Thanks to its agility and reaction speed to changing financial tides, it's proven itself to be a staple of the financial trading world.
