Who you are

Approximately 3 - 5 years corporate comms experience, ideally within agency or a fast-growth tech environment, who is looking to take their next step
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of earning media coverage
Comfortable dealing with national journalists, and has started to build relationships in this space; a network of healthcare journalist relationships is beneficial
Intellectually curious, strong analytical ability and enjoys problem solving in a collaborative manner
Able and willing to first understand, and then distil in simple terms, a complex product and sector
Politically astute, able to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes
A self-starter who thrives in constantly evolving environments
Cares deeply about the impact technology can have in the health space

What the job involves

Working closely with the Founder & CEO and leadership team,
Build awareness and understanding of the business and sector among opinion formers
Identify opportunities to raise the company’s profile including media commentary and speaking events
Write compelling press releases, strategically selling into business, health and tech media and securing coverage
Build strong relationships with relevant journalists and manage the press office
Lead corporate announcements, project managing internally and externally
Develop thought leadership, working closely with subject matter experts, marketing and design to bring our campaigns to life
Think deeply about reputation management and horizon scan for future reputational risks
Ensure consistency of messages internally and externally
Can work closely with the people team on internal messaging and comms, including the newsletter and all-hands

Over 2 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK and US. And receiving this cancer diagnosis is the beginning of a daunting journey for both patients and their families. To support patients through this process, Careology offers a platform for them to access their treatment from their phones and connect with clinicians and caregivers.

With healthcare waiting lists growing and clinicians being unable to remotely identify and support their patients, more and more health organisations are turning to digital technology. Careology is answering that demand, partnering with companies like Aviva, LloydsPharmacy and Macmillan to broaden its impact and support more people affected by cancer.
