Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 4+ years of experience with Python or similar language
- Understanding of Object Oriented and Functional Programming paradigms
- Independent and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Is a motivated software engineer with an eye for details and looking to join a team of experienced and innovative individuals
- Will work closely with the data science team to bring their code to production
- Is passionate about building and testing software products
- Is excited about the opportunity to join a mission-oriented and high-potential start-up, anchored in pioneering science and focused on delivering best-in-class data and technology for nature-based solutions
Desirable
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB
- Experience with Open Source Geospatial tools such as GDAL, Geopandas, Rasterio, Xarray, etc
What the job involves
- We are looking for a talented Geospatial Software Engineer (Backend) to support the deployment of Chloris’ innovative technology by enterprises active in the voluntary carbon markets
- The Geospatial Software Engineer (Backend) will report to the Engineer Manager and will work closely with the Data Science team
- Design, test, and build the backend software which delivers Chloris Geospatial’s unique insights
- Work closely with data scientists to optimize and integrate their code in order to bring it to production
