Who you are

5+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, or other relevant language
Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
Experience with Web Components or LitElement is a huge plus, but not required
Experience using Typescript in a production setting
Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Java, Go, Scala)
Deep experience with a modern web stack, whether it's Javascript bundlers, React internals, etc. You've debugged it, you've improved it, you can imagine doing it better
Familiar with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation
Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally
Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure
Excellent communication skills. You collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences

What the job involves

The Top of Funnel team is key to user growth. By combining our knowledge of search, cutting edge technology, and an eye for new user experiences we get the opportunity to present Reddit to new and unfamiliar users, with the mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world
Partner and collaborate with partner teams to deliver high quality UI components
Tackle tough design and product problems
Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategies and build novel products and features that our users will love
Communicate effectively, within the team and across disciplines. Work closely with product managers and designers to craft compelling user experiences
Contribute meaningfully to our team’s strategy. We give everyone a seat at the table and encourage active participation in planning our future. Don’t just come along for the ride
Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs
Foster a healthy engineering culture and collaborate with other engineers
