Role
What the job involves
- As a Product Engineer, you'll be part of the SWAT team in charge of building the trading experience and user-facing platform of Kalshi
- You won't just implement specifications, but instead, get to be part of the product development cycle and conceive entire features before developing
- You'll engage with our user base and use your product spidey-sense to build something they love
- Building new features and flows across our web and mobile applications
- Writing and maintaining back-end code to drive the product features
- Iterating with designers to ensure an impeccable visual flow and continuity on the platform
- Interacting with users and adjusting product trajectories based on their feedback
- Conducting experiments and A/B testing to drive product strategy in a data-driven way
- Weighing customer feedback, business needs, and long-term goals to make product decisions
- Working with marketing and business development teams to increase user engagement and satisfaction

Our take
Despite there being a broad choice of investment models, traders have not traditionally been able to invest in the outcomes of future events. Kalshi, as the first federally regulated exchange where users can invest, trade and essentially "bet" on future outcomes, sets out to change this.
The company has launched a unique asset class called "event contracts", where investors can buy simple yes or no contracts based on whether an event will happen or not. Since gaining federal regulation, Kalshi has begun adding expertise in key areas, hiring new executive and director talent.
The key to the company's future will be maintaining trust with users through transparency, particularly on how more complex or ongoing ‘wagers’ are settled. The company is well-funded and continues to add options for its users. Although at present it is dealing with some not-so-great attention from regulators who believe it should be subject to gambling laws.
