Role
Who you are
- Proven experience in analytics roles, with a track record of influencing product or business decision making with data and insights
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with modern data stacks. dbt is essential, GCP, AWS are nice to haves
- Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in data visualisation tools (e.g., Lightdash (advantageous), Looker or Tableau)
- Solid understanding of experimentation techniques and statistical analysis (e.g. A/B testing)
- Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in working cross-functionally (with tech disciplines advantageous) and building strong relationships with stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the opportunity to shape how data drives decision-making at Yoto
- Bonus: experience with Python, R, or similar for advanced analytics
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join our Data Team to help provide insights across our products and business and provide the foundations to grow the business to the next level
- We’re a small team at the heart of all the decisions Yoto makes. We work in a high-trust environment with a lot of independence. Everyone can contribute ideas and be part of the decision making process
- We tackle a broad range of problems, from developing cutting edge data product solutions to maintaining and building data ingestion pipelines, query and orchestration platforms, our work spans across all the key strategic projects throughout the company
- Partner with tech, design and product teams to understand their needs, providing actionable analysis to inform roadmaps, measure initiatives and drive decisions
- Own end-to-end analysis projects: define problems and hypotheses, gather requirements, analyse data, present findings with recommendations, drive decision-making discussions
- Support strategic decision-making at leadership and team levels, ensuring alignment with Yoto’s goals
- Drive adoption of data literacy across the organisation by mentoring colleagues and leading data education initiatives
- Be a leader within the Data team, helping us grow, defining standards and best practices as well as sharing knowledge and capabilities
- Design, analyse, and interpret experiments (e.g. A/B tests) to assess product changes and guide iteration
- Develop and maintain robust product metrics, dashboards, and self-serve insights that teams trust and use

Our take
A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
