Likening itself to a “community of teams” rather than a traditional organisation. Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit designed to support the development of Ethereum (the platform and programme language supporting the building and publishing of decentralised apps) and other related technologies.
Boasting the achievement of being the third highest crowd-funded project of all time, its open-source platform aims to decentralise the web, claiming “Ethereum is how the Internet was supposed to work”. The company has captured the attention of Microsoft and was incorporated in Microsoft’s cloud computing platform and services.
Acquiring significant funding over the years Ethereum is definitely one to watch. Releasing consistent new development and nurturing its long standing projects, the Ethereum Foundation has a strong base of values that have been kept on since the beginning. It'll be exciting to see how it evolves as the web world does.
