Who you are
- The position requires an individual who has significant labor relations (LR) experience, deep subject matter expertise, and strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- These competencies will enable the individual to work both independently to successfully manage a broad spectrum of employee and LR matters with employees and partners across Amazon’s wide geographic and cultural scope
- Experience in French labor relations, with demonstrated expertise in managing collective bodies and social partners
- Knowledge of French Labor Code and proven track record of successfully managing complex labor relations matters in the French market
- Experience in implementing labor relations strategies in large multinational companies operating in France
- Fluent in spoken and written French and English (Common European Framework of Reference C2)
- Master's degree in Labor Law, Human Resources Management, or equivalent
Desirable
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, root causes, and develop innovative solutions
- International business exposure or experience working in multinational environments
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
- Sound judgment and decision-making, deploying emotional intelligence in every interaction with our employee base
- Prior exposure to labor relations in other European countries would be an advantage
- Experience in aligning local French requirements with global/regional labor relations framework
- Experience coaching, consulting and advising employees and HR & business stakeholders and experience managing conflict resolution in the workplace
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills in an ambiguous environment with the capacity to work autonomously to manage competing priorities simultaneously while driving projects to closure
- Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate complex, international organizational structures
- Experience facilitating employee listening sessions/focus group and designing and delivering training programs
- Acts with a sense of urgency and with a desire to thrive in a dynamically growing environment
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high-level of discretion
- Technically proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
What the job involves
- The Global Corporate Employee Relations (GCER) team at Amazon is seeking an Employee Relations (ER) Manager to support the Amazon Corporate Business Lines in EMEA
- Partner with business leaders and HR teams to create and sustain positive labor relations (LR) programs and best practices, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration
- Develop and implement compliant HR and LR practices, processes, and capability building programs
- Analyze social climate indicators, compliance metrics, and labor relations data to identify trends and drive preventive actions
- Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders (business leaders, HR, social partners) while ensuring alignment between local and global objectives
- Create and maintain early warning practices to identify and address potential labor relations challenges before they escalate
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and competitive practices to ensure market-leading labor relations strategies

Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
