Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team
- This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who possesses a strong passion for leveraging data to solve complex business problems
- Advanced degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science or equivalent preferred. A Master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of data science experience, with focus in machine learning, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering complex data science projects
- Strong foundational skills: Python, pandas, SQL
- Hands on experience with machine learning tools, techniques, and frameworks (e.g. sklearn, Tensorflow, etc)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

- As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision making and providing insights that contribute to our customers' experience
- Your primary responsibilities will include leading projects independently, applying your business acumen to find the gaps in the system, and applying machine learning skills to solve them
- Independently lead end-to-end data science projects, from problem formulation to model deployment, ensuring successful delivery and implementation
- Apply data and algorithmic thinking to identify and understand critical business challenges, and proactively propose data-driven solutions to address them
- Work cross-functionally to identify high impact business needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations that provide a deep understanding of our products, customers, and market dynamics
- Utilize statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to build predictive models, recommend improvements, and optimize business processes
Our take
Consumer debt, such as from credit cards and personal loans, is at an all-time high. Meanwhile, the manner in which debt is collected continues to get more aggressive. TrueAccord is hoping to help combat this by taking a markedly softer approach to the debt collection market.
The company's approach is to collect debt not with brute force but instead with consumer-friendly software technology. This software provides customers with the ability to adjust repayment plans online, change the amount they pay week by week and gain the ability to cancel a payment with no added fees.
This provides debtors with a more personalised way to manage their debt, which has the added affect of enabling more debt to be successfully collected. Through this approach, TrueAccord has the opportunity to fundamentally change debt collection - a fact which has earned it multiple partnerships and plenty of investment.
