Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable processing
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical device company preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP Systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices related to accounts payable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent math acumen and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Strong critical thinker and problem solver
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, customer service focused and a team player
- Ability to work two days in our San Francisco office and two days in our Redwood City office
What the job involves
- The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
- The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant performs a variety of daily accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, reimbursement requests and responding to queries
- Three-way matching of vendor invoices and issuing payments in a timely manner
- Reviewing, approving Purchase Order Requisition Form, and assigning GL codes to purchases from all departments
- Performing month-end credit card reconciliation
- Reviewing and processing expense reimbursement reports timely
- Responding to vendor payment queries
- Researching and rectifying unpaid invoices and receipts
- Analyzing vendor accounts, reconciling any discrepancies against vendor records and if any, communicating issues with the Operations team for resolution
- Ensuring AP documents are properly named and filed, and document support for Fixed Asset and Prepaid additions, and accrued expenses are deposited in corresponding accounting folders
- Performing month-end account closing activities and reconciliations, particularly relating to AP aging and accrued expenses
- Assisting in responding to various departments regarding AP-related issues and queries
- Calculating and paying monthly use tax due and filing quarterly returns on time
- Ensuring W9 records from vendors are complete and 1099s are prepared and filed accurately and timely
- Assisting in preparation of audit leads and gathering support documents
- Performing tasks as needed to meet Accounting Team’s deliverables
