Who you are

5+ years of working experience as a frontend developer
3+ experience and proficiency in React.js or other Javascript frameworks (HTML5, CSS3)
Understanding of design principles and patterns
Experienced in writing well-documented, clean Javascript code
Understanding of RESTful APIs and API documentation

Desirable

University Degree in Computer Science or related fields
Experience in TypeScript and state management libraries like Redux
Knowledge of React Native
Knowledge of SSR frameworks like Next.js
Experience in writing component, integration, and end-to-end tests
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins

What the job involves

As Senior Frontend Developer (m/f/x), you will be at the forefront of a challenging intersection between technology, UI, and research, where you'll be responsible for building applications that help people improve their mental health
Drawing on your experience with frontend technologies such as React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and more, you'll design and develop scalable products that guarantee a pixel-perfect UI across multiple browsers, ensuring that our products are both user-friendly and safe to use, delivering an outstanding user experience
Reports to: Leonardo Couto (Engineering Manager)
Refine the structure and design of our frontend web applications to enhance user experience
Leveraging the backend RESTful APIs and developing user-friendly interfaces
Incorporate user feedback to guide design choices and optimize the user experience
Identify and troubleshoot performance and security issues to maintain a secure and efficient product
Maintain code integrity through automated testing and ongoing maintenance to ensure the highest quality product

People all over the world struggle with psychological problems on a day-to-day basis, and whilst awareness, education, and therapeutic services are on the rise, it can still be difficult to access the help that is needed. Whilst some countries provide some mental health services for free, most specialized psychological support is very expensive, subject to long waiting lists, and inaccessible to many.

HelloBetter provides a platform of online psychological courses, tackling specialized subjects such as work-related stress and burnout, mental health issues as a result of chronic pain, and diabetes-related depression. The courses are curated by world-leading mental help researchers and course developers and are eligible to be prescribed for free on a patient's health insurance.

The internet has long since been used as a platform for psychological courses, but these usually lack an expert-approved framework, and options that do meet professional standards are expensive. By partnering with psychologists, researchers, doctors, and health insurance providers, HelloBetter is standing out with its efforts to make psychological care as accessible as possible. And with a stack of funding under its belt (with the latest coming in 2025), the German company is setting its sight on tackling the French market next.
