Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of previous experience in product management of one or more successful products or services
- Experience with developer-facing products, especially CLIs, APIs, Developer Docs etc
- Some understanding of blockchain or distributed systems
- Strong technical background (ideally a software engineering or CS background)
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with technical concepts such as API’s, GraphQL, blockchains or distributed systems, etc
- Experience with cryptography or proof systems is a bonus
What the job involves
- Talk to customers and build up customer segments and ideal customer profiles
- Analyze the industry to establish trends and opportunities
- Develop product roadmap & strategy
- Identify and track metrics
- Evaluate and prioritize specific opportunities and areas of improvement (e.g. TPS, node operator experience, block time, etc) for the Mina protocol
- Develop product requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, cryptography & other teams in the O(1)Labs to design, develop, build, QA, and release new products & developer tools for the Mina protocol
- Collaborate with the ecosystem participants (e.g. node operators and developers) to address their needs, communicate product roadmap, and incorporate their feedback into product roadmap
Our take
Blockchain technology is an essential part of Web 3.0 infrastructure, but it is currently limited by problems of scalability. The constantly growing size of any blockchain's ledger requires expensive node infrastructure, which poses technical problems as well as undercutting Web 3.0's promise of decentralisation.
0(1) Labs, in response to this, incubated the Mina Protocol, which is a lightweight blockchain that can scale to any size, while remaining small enough for cell phones to act as nodes. This has since grown into a thriving ecosystem of Zero-Knowledge (ZK) developers (drawn in both by the promise of the technology, and by grants provided through token sales) while 0(1) Labs continues to work on several other ZK projects.
Despite crypto and blockchain spaces experiencing some troubles of late, O(1)'s infrastructure has been shown to work, which means it can continue to drive acceptance of ZK products into the mainstream. With strong funding at its back, it can be expected that O(1) Labs will continue investing in engineering and product development as it pursues its goal of bringing Web 3.0 to the general public.
