The jury may be out on that, but startups like Bebop are building the infrastructure for this flowering industry anyway. In particular, Bebop is building a decentralised exchange aiming to make superior trading products with efficient execution available to anyone. In practice, that means unique features like the ability to swap one token for a portfolio of tokens and, conversely, swap a portfolio of tokens for one token, allowing traders to enter or exit multiple positions via a single trade.

While features like these set Bebop apart in the DeFi space, an exchange is only as good as its liquidity. While its incubator Wintermute can provide that liquidity for some time, growing its user-base and connecting to other AMMs and liquidity providers will be crucial to the start-up’s survival.
