Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing (subset of time in product management OK)
- Experience in positioning emerging and/or evolving categories
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Never-ending market and product curiosity
- Proficiency in presenting and story-telling
- Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, customers, and partners
- Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or Business-related field, MBA preferred
What the job involves
- As the Sr. PMM for Confluence, you will help our product team “build what sells” and collaborate with our go-to-market team to “sell what we build.”
- This includes contributing to market pulses that influence product roadmap, analyzing competitors, and driving launches for key product announcements
- With recent innovation in AI, whiteboards, databases, automation, and analytics, the future of Confluence has never been brighter
- Additionally, Atlassian’s market-leading presence on ways of working for globally distributed teams provides a unique canvas to engage customers with the product
- You’ll be a key part of the team to help maximize the opportunity in front of us and deliver big results
- Crushing business objectives around customer growth, expansion, monetization, and retention
- Developing world-class positioning influenced by market trends, customer feedback, and competitive differentiation
- Launching product innovation to captivate and capture the attention of the market
- Creating strong collaborative partnerships with an amazing group of cross-functional partners across marketing and product
- Position key features and capabilities in Confluence to succeed in the market and standout from competitors
- Deliver on robust launch plans to meet ambitious business goals and OKRs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize Confluence’s digital buyer journey through the Atlassian flywheel
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize Confluence’s sales and channel led buyer journey
- Establish a continuous market voice through a strong operating rhythm of customer, market, and competitor analysis points
- Contribute to quarterly market pulses to inform and influence key roadmap decisions
- Analyze the competitive landscape and establish positioning that contributes to sustainable differentiation

Atlassian creates software products for developers and project managers to help teams work together more efficiently. Since its founding in 2002, the global company has built up a strong suite of high-performing products including Jira, Trello, and Confluence.
Whilst their focus has predominantly been on software team management, products like Trello mark a shift in strategy for Atlassian, who intend to expand their coverage to other sectors. It is a smart move: with companies increasingly operating globally, the ability to coordinate projects from a common hub is more useful than ever.
