Role
Who you are
- 5-7+ years experience in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, performing statistical modeling and quantitative and technical analysis, ideally with experience in marketplace or e-commerce environments
- Experience with media mix modeling required. Experience with complex experiment design and measuring performance of traditional and digital marketing campaigns is preferred
- Proficiency in Python or R and SQL is required
- Experience working with common packages and knowledge of marketing data science / ML modeling techniques (ex. MMM, Scikit-learn, Random Forest, Causal Impact, ARIMAX, Synthetic Control, Gradient Boosting & Logistic Regression, etc.)
- Experience with both natural and controlled experiment design and a proven ability to solve and communicate complex problems using technical skills, business context, and creativity
- Experience partnering with business teams on nimble and rapid model development
- A proven ability to apply a scientific approach to building models, evaluating statistical outcomes and continuous improvement of your work
- Demonstrated ability collaborating with cross-functional teams on nimble and rapid model development to define and address key business challenges
- Self-directed and demonstrated ability to define, prioritize, and direct analytics initiatives is a must. Be able to own and deliver projects on time on our own
- Our data stack consists of Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, AWS, FiveTran, Sagemaker, MLFlow, Kubernetes + Docker. Any experience with the above is a nice-to-have
- Strong organization skills, time management skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitask

- We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join our thriving Marketing Analytics team
- Reporting to our Sr. Manager, Marketing Analytics, you'll unleash the power of data to fuel innovation and drive insights that inform our media mix and marketing spend strategy
- Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, bridging Marketing, Analytics, Data/ML Engineering, and Product teams
- You'll be the trusted partner of a skilled peer group, playing a pivotal role in finding viable solutions to complex data challenges that fortify our marketing and acquisition strategies

- You will be responsible for owning Marketing Mix Modeling and using advanced statistical techniques to solve critical marketing questions requiring data science

- If you are a self-starter who is passionate about understanding the impact of marketing dollars, forecasting future performance, modeling customer behavior, and designing complex time series/regression experiment we’re excited to connect with you
- Own Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and use advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian and causal inference to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations to marketing
- Design and implement complex A/B testing frameworks to evaluate the impact that marketing spend has on new and existing customers
- Develop predictive models to forecast marketing impact, order activity, user behavior and LTV to anticipate customer needs and contribute to our data-driven marketing strategy
- Expose patterns across structured and unstructured data to identify business opportunities, working closely with business partners on problems that will materially benefit our customers and our results
- Partner with ML engineering team to integrate data science models and algorithms like attribution modeling and customer segmentation within our production environment to fuel decision-making and personalization
- Focus on end-to-end problem solving, serving as an advisor and mentor to other analysts and BI teams on complex problems that require statistics or Python
- Proactively identify opportunities for the application of Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning across ezCater - serve as an advocate for continuous improvement across the analytics space
- Contribute to ezCater’s culture of personal and professional growth by leading projects with multiple stakeholders and mentoring others in this valuable field

Our take
ezCater is an online marketplace app that provides catering options for businesses, working with food providers who enter their menus onto the app for customers to browse. ezCater sends each store its orders and handles customer service whilst the food providers fulfill the orders.
ezCater profits by charging a small commission on all orders that restaurants fulfill. The company counts JLL, RingCentral and the San Francisco 49ers among its customers. It previously fuelled expansion through acquisitions such as online catering platform GoCater in 2018 and MonkeySoft Solutions in 2019.
ezCater has enjoyed strong growth so far, in part by focusing on meal deliveries to a growing hybrid workforce as an employee benefit. It has been eyeing an IPO for some time, though these plans are yet to come to fruition. In the meantime, it has continued to develop its technology and unveiled a new supplier diversity program to uplift small businesses owned by underrepresented groups.
