Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in Retail/ Commerce SAAS and some experience with OMS, WMS, TMS, ERP, Shopify
- 8+ years of experience leading strategic product initiatives, influencing executive decision-making, and driving cross-functional alignment
- Demonstrated success in AI/ML product development, working with data science teams to define and build ML powered products
- Expertise in owning end-end product lifecycle from ideation, recruiting design partners/customers, launch, implementation, post go-live support with a track record of delivering high-impact solutions
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience collaborating with Data Science, Engineering, UX, GTM, and Finance to deliver best-in-class commerce solutions
- Bias for action, Ownership and Founder Mentality where no task is too small or big – rapid prototyping using Bolt/Cursor, Recruiting design partners, Brainstorming platform decisions with engineering
What the job involves
- Reporting directly to our CPTO, this is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments, has built and scaled multiple data products from scratch, and is passionate about taking ideas from zero-to-one with a founder mentality while influencing the long-term roadmap of Agentic Commerce at fabric
- Own and define the strategic product vision, roadmap, and execution plan, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Lead the development of AI-driven automation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and decision-making capabilities
- Drive market analysis and competitive research to inform product strategy and investment decisions
- Champion a data-driven approach to product development, using insights and customer feedback to shape roadmap priorities
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to drive go-to-market strategies and ensure product success
- Foster a culture of innovation by mentoring and guiding product teams on best practices and emerging technologies.Describe the specific responsibilities and job functions of the role
Our take
The global e-commerce market is massively on the rise. Driven by changing consumer habits, especially the growth of shopping on mobile devices, the global market grew by almost $3 trillion between 2015 and 2020 and reached roughly $7 trillion in 2025.
Founded in 2017, fabric offers a "headless" commerce platform as a service to retailers, merchandisers, and sellers to streamline their e-commerce operations. The so-called "headless" commerce separates the front- and back-ends of e-commerce websites and applications, which allows brands greater flexibility and faster page loads.
fabric's strategy is focused on technology and innovation, particularly through the use of scalable software and APIs. Targeting brands that are "too big for Shopify" yet "too fast for Salesforce", it is looking to appeal to a niche within the e-commerce market that existing competition hasn't yet taken advantage of.
This approach has attracted a lot of interest, both from brands and investors, leading to major funding rounds in 2021 and 2022. fabric is using these funds to ramp up product development and expand into more markets.
