Role
Who you are
- Previous experience with the semiconductor or hardware industry is valued, but not required
- 6-10+ years of prior engineering experience, including technical leadership
- Expert ability to write clean, effective and scalable code, with a strong proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Experience building backend services in Python or other languages. Ability and desire to contribute across our stack
- Familiarity with state management, performance optimization, and relevant technical concepts
- Deep understanding of how web technologies work. Experience building interactive systems with HTML, CSS and other Web APIs
- Passion for user experience, including an ability and desire to understand how technical decisions impact the people who will use what you're building
- Experience with interaction and product design, user research, wireframing, and Figma
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions in a fast-paced startup environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Desirable
- Meaningful experience working and building within or for the semiconductor industry, or developing hardware products or software for hardware products
- Former zero-to-one engineering lead or startup founder with a demonstrated track record of building customer-facing products
- Experience working with LLMs or collaborating with ML teams
- Familiarity with the latest AI-powered programming tools
- Experience with visual design and strong attention to detail
What the job involves
- We are hiring a Software Engineer, Full Stack to design and build high-performance products for semiconductor companies that unlock faster iteration cycles and enable innovation for our customers
- This role sits at the critical intersection between our AI capabilities and our users, requiring both technical excellence and a deep appreciation for user experience
- Design and build high-performance systems that make complex workflows intuitive for users, including features such as visualization tools, diagnostic assistants, and test version control
- Partner with product team and users to translate complex technical capabilities into powerful and approachable experiences
- Re-imagine business critical workflows to enable new levels of accuracy, speed, and innovation
- Lead projects from concept to deployment. Develop engineering roadmaps in collaboration with AI researchers, in-house hardware experts, and product managers in alignment with company goals
- Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment that promotes technical excellence, transparency, and continuous learning
Our take
As the rate of AI adoption accelerates, Normal Computing sets out to make it more usable and scalable for enterprises, where risk is a central barrier to its implementation. The hope is that this will allow enterprises to make use of technologies such as Generative AI which has so far only been considered appropriate for early consumer applications.
The company's Probabilistic AI gives control over reliability, adaptivity, and auditability to AI models powered by its customers' private data. It boasts the ability to support such applications as automating complex underwriting processes, generating and validating specialized code, and mitigating risks in situations where the conditions are dynamic and fluctuating.
By targeting a major roadblock to enterprise AI adoption, Normal Computing has the chance to make a major (and profitable) contribution to accelerating complex AI use cases. The company has raised considerable funding to support its endeavours, which it will use to double down on the R&D of its application development platform and Probabilistic AI technology.
