- Proven track record of having independently taken multiple products or features from ideation to launch

Desirable

- Adjacent experience with other judicial solutions that complement your legal subject matter expertise
- A number of failures under your belt, the learnings of which you can bring to Clio

What the job involves
- We are currently seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Documents team. This role will be based out of one of our Canadian hubs (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto) in a hybrid capacity
- Documents and document-related workflows are mission critical for any legal practice
- Our customers generate, receive and review millions of documents every year
- The entire justice system functions through the flow and exchange of documents
- Lawyers need efficient and reliable ways to generate and review a wide variety of documents
- You will drive the product vision, strategy and roadmap execution for our Clio Draft product, with a focus on expansion into international markets (EMEA, APAC)
- You will also be responsible for delivering a library of best practice forms, templates and publishing tools with a goal to make our customers more productive
- This is a key area of investment for Clio and a cornerstone of our future growth
- As the successful candidate, we will rely on your tried, tested and well-honed product management skills to shape the trajectory of new products and features, as well as integrations with external products and partners
- You will be responsible for driving the success of the product, from concept to delivery, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of legal professionals while maintaining a competitive edge in the market
- Product Leadership + Execution: In collaboration with your Developer and Designer counterparts (your triad) you will drive successful outcomes for customers. Working from the overarching strategy set by leadership you will build products and features that make our customers' document workflows more efficient and productive
- Cutting edge technology: You will envision how to leverage GenAI and NLP to radically improve the document generation process
- Strategy and Prioritization: You will drive customer and market research, identify opportunities in the Documents space, develop unbiased business cases and determine priorities that deliver significant impact for our customers and our business. You will build conviction in the initiatives that you chose to invest in and be willing to pivot when priorities change or new information comes to light
- Market and Customer Understanding: We truly believe that the success of our customers comes first so we have high expectations for Product Managers to be the expert on the user. As such, constant communication with customers, (existing, churned and prospect), as well as a deep understanding of the markets in which we operate will be expected. The candidate is also expected to develop strong relationships with our international teams to make Clio Draft a global success
- Systems Integration: In partnership with Engineering, you will drive the unification of underlying billing and go-to-market systems to effectively launch and monetize Clio Draft in international markets
- Partnerships: You'll act as the product liaison for partnerships, focusing on the technical complexities and user experience considerations that come with integrating third-party services
- Coaching and Mentoring: Clio will look to you to coach and mentor other Product Managers in their craft and, in conjunction with product leadership, contribute to the continuous up-leveling of the product function and contributing to the culture as a whole
Our take
Modern law firms increasingly manage their work digitally but the lack of a specialised remote solution means that workflows have become fragmented. This leads to legal practice managers having to juggle multiple software solutions across various devices.
Clio provides a legal practice management platform designed for law firms, allowing users to manage billing for legal aid cases, access and manage documents and store files across multiple devices. Whilst other startups are operating in this niche, Clio has uniquely focussed on synchronisation across remote devices and on a wide range of integrations, allowing the user to access information from other industry standard software such as Xero and Klyant from within a single interface.
Clio has raised a large amount of investment capital, most recently in a 2021 Series E round which saw the company attain unicorn status with a valuation exceeding $1 billion. This funding is being used to accelerate its product development, hire additional talent, and for expansion into new markets with a focus on the EMEA region, particularly the UK and Ireland.
