Who you are
- This role requires someone who is both technically savvy and strategic, with a proven track record of crafting compelling product narratives and building marketing assets that resonate with technical decision-makers
- If you’re passionate about AI infrastructure, developer engagement, and simplifying complex technologies for real-world adoption, we want to hear from you
- 3–8+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or SaaS
- Proven success creating technical product marketing content and campaigns targeting developer audiences
- Working understanding of the LLM landscape: post-training, open-weight and closed models, training techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Technically adept and comfortable working with engineering teams to understand product capabilities
- Familiarity with developer ecosystems, APIs, and modern software development practices
- Worked at a fast-moving startup and can adjust quickly. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager with a strong background in engaging developer audiences and delivering impactful go-to-market programs for native AI and enterprise companies
- This role is specifically focused on our Model API product offering at Baseten
- Positioning & Messaging: Develop clear and differentiated messaging that articulates the value of Baseten’s inference platform to developers and enterprise customers
- Narrative Development: Shape how the market thinks about closed-to-open weights models and what matters most when building inference
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Own the launch process for new features and products, collaborating closely with product, engineering, sales, and growth teams
- Content Development: Create high-quality marketing assets, including white papers, technical blogs, demos, and customer case studies
- Sales Enablement: Build resources and programs that empower our sales teams to effectively communicate Baseten’s capabilities and benefits
- Market Insights: Understand the fast-moving AI market and build competitive and market analysis to inform product positioning strategies

As with its mathematical namesake, Baseten focuses on simplifying the complex. The San Francisco startup focuses on simplifying the integration of artificial intelligence into businesses. The tools that Baseten build demolish the need for businesses to hire specialised engineers, utilising the huge strides in artificial intelligence that we’ve seen in the last few years, all without adding workload to businesses.
With serious funding behind it, Baseten has grown its team by three times year-over-year over the last five years. Specifically, it's hired across engineering and marketing, gaining talent from companies such as GitHub, Google, Uber, Amazon, and Palantir. Part of Baseten's focus is on helping companies implement the tools that they have at their disposal, a long-overlooked aspect of machine learning that many businesses have been eager to champion, but are uncertain about how to actually use.
