Who you are

Fluent German & English language skills. Any additional language is a plus
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Business Informatics, Data Science, or a related field
Strong interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and applied NLP technologies
Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented thinker
Comfortable in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment
Proactive, curious, and eager to learn from both commercial and technical teams
Skilled in Google Suite, in particular Google Sheets and analysis of complex datasets, and Google Presentation to condense insights into compelling storylines for Customer-, Management-, or Investor-facing presentations
Available 15–20 hours per week with flexibility during study periods

Desirable

Basic understanding of Python and curiosity about how AI works under the hood
Previous experience within start-up/scale-up environment or management consulting

Assist in the preparation of offers, , and technical documentation for the Business Development Team
Contribute to strategic and market analyses that inform key business decisions together with the Chief of Staff
Help craft presentations and materials for customers, investors, and the management team
Support the creation and customization of product demos using the deepset AI platform

Our take

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is at the core of many modern enterprise data processing workflows, from complex data processes to customer service chatbots. However, NLP systems are not one-size-fits-all, and the development and deployment of bespoke NLP systems require the niche and expensive help of programmers with expertise in machine learning and semantic syntax.

Deepset provides an open-source API-driven framework called Haystack for the quick and efficient development of production-ready NLP systems. The company's goal is to make modern NLP as easy as possible to apply in a practical and scalable way, and states major use cases of its API for automated data analysis, customer satisfaction, fraud monitoring, and regulatory actions.

Whilst NLP has been implemented by many enterprises such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft, options for companies without dedicated AI experts have been limited, making Deepset's open-source approach highly beneficial to many industries. Lately, the company has introduced custom AI agent solution architecture, which will enable companies to deploy AI agents across cloud and on-premise environments.
