Our take
We’ve all had that end of dinner “who’s paying what” moment. Having group payment platforms and integrated services within current banking apps has changed the game for split-payments and money requesting. Collctiv joins the market with its money collection app.
The company is going head to head with the likes of Monzo and Splitwise creating an app where customers can send a link with a note to family or friends and with a few taps the money is returned. Similar to Paypal, Collctiv is a third-party application you then withdraw to your bank from.
The young British company has already acquired 440k customers and processed more than $22million in transactions. Considering there are already applications out there similar to this company, these numbers are impressive and a nod toward the nuances that Collctiv offer like sending the link to a group rather than each individual. Excitingly the company has recently launched in the US, and it has seen the demand for the product continue to grow.
