Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science Degree or equivalent from a fully-accredited college or university
- 4+ years mobile programming experience including Flutter
- Git-based distributed version control systems
- Sound programming fundamentals: experience working with memory management, multi-threaded programming, and animations
- Experience with Test-driven development along with unit and integration testing
- Agile-based project development in a microservices environment
- Work and play well with others; SoFi is a collaborative environment
- Passion for solving complex problems
Desirable
- Familiarity with hybrid app development and Flutter
- Experience with observability tools like DataDog and New Relic
- Experience with maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test-automation
- Understanding of microservice architecture
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Flutter Developer with a natural inclination to elegantly solve problems
- As a member of the Mobile platform team, you will be responsible for improving our Mobile application and help members get their money right
- You will get the chance to take on complex and interesting problems as part of a highly collaborative team
- Must be able to deliver high-quality code on schedule, communicate with groups in and outside the development team
- Participating in code and design reviews
- Contribute cross-functional delivery teams to ensure deliverables are met
- Track project performance against defined milestones/goals
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders
- Take initiative and produce timely results in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Make significant contributions to the code base
Our take
SoFi started by offering ways for students to secure better financial terms on their loans, and now offers a huge range of personal finance products, including bank accounts, loans, mortgages, investment advice, and investment opportunities. Many customers find they have to go to multiple financial service providers to meet all their finance needs, but SoFi overcomes this issue by putting it all in one place.
Its goal, to cover all the financial bases, sets it apart from many of the traditional banks and even some of their digital competitors, such as Avant, which has chosen to focus on providing credit alternatives. Although it is operating in a competitive market with a lot of big players such as Monzo, Revolut, and Starling, the company has managed to raise huge amounts of funding to support its rapid expansion.
SoFi has focussed on global expansion, moving outside the US, and has made a series of acquisitions to support this - including a Hong Kong-based investment app called 8 Securities. After going public on the New York Stock Exchange via a SPAC merger in June 2021, the company has continued to evolve and release more mission-oriented services into its roster, and strengthened its lending capabilities through a $350 million post-IPO loan. To date, the company has sold over $15 billion in personal loan collateral and continues to strengthen its offering.
