Role
Who you are
- You have relevant experience as a software engineer and are familiar with our tech stack
- You are experienced in technical project management, team leadership and have a good understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies
- You have passion and experience in building, launching, and scaling great products and teams
- You have the ability to understand and translate business and user requirements across teams and our leadership team
- You have extensive knowledge of software engineering: software engineering practices, modern design, and architecture concepts
- You know how to apply efficiency and automation to improve development processes
- You have the ability to prioritize engineering initiatives and drive the delivery of the squad
- You have exceptional and effective communication skills in English
What the job involves
- You lead an engineering team consisting of 2-3 senior react engineers that are building one of your core products, our trading platform
- You are responsible for the squad's technical delivery and you will ensure efficient and effective implementation as well as a high performing standard
- You are guiding your team members by having regular 1:1s, empower them to deliver on the technical vision and fostering their career development
- You are the counterpart of the squad's product owner and make sure the technical strategy is aligned with the product roadmap and priorities
- You will be the subject-matter expert for engineering in your squad and assist the team with architectural decisions
- You ensure that the development process is smooth and support the squad in constantly improving
- You are responsible for making sure the squad has enough technical resources (staffing & recruitment), aligned with the budget
- You shape and nurture a collaborative, inclusive, and alive remote engineering culture in line with our guiding principles
Our take
As the transformation to a Web 3.0 world continues, more and more people seek a shift to the blockchain – whether that be moving their digital content there or investing in crypto. Flooz Trade is a decentralised crypto exchange that was spun out of the now-defunct Flooz Link metaverse platform and features more than 150K unique cryptocurrencies.
Flooz was founded in 2020 to offer digital creators, entrepreneurs, and traders a way to reach financial opportunities through blockchain tech, and it stands out for offering an immersive and comprehensive list of services, most recently including a "Checkout" feature that integrates Flooz Trade onto customers homepages and applications. Though it originally marketed a range of "Gen-F" avatars as NFTs through Flooz Link, this "metaverse" leaning side of the company was subsumed by Flooz Trade in March 2023.
The slimming of its company offerings to crypto exchanges instead of metaverse platforms indicates a tightening of focus for Flooz and, most likely, the Web 3.0 community as a whole. Flooz Trade seems to be gathering momentum as well, partnering with cryptocurrency companies like CIEL and FIAT in 2023.
